more for national curriculum

In discussing the National curriculum, Alan Reid argues that we 'must move beyond limiting curriculum development to a demarcation dispute based on geographical boundaries draw up in the 19th century...(to meeting) the challenges of the 21st century...The complexity and ambiguity of the social, political and economic shifts that are shaping our world suggest that such an impoverished rationale and associated strategies are no longer adequate.' What Reid is saying is that what we ought to be doing is more, and bigger. Total restructure! No. Decide what skills are of national significance for citizenship and allow the vehicle for which this information is delivered up to each state and territory.
