creativity

While looking for research about educative methods for G&T students in an inclusive classroom I came across an interesting article by Kyung Hee Kim and Joyce VanTassel-Baska titled, The Relationship Between Creativity and Behavior Problems Among Underachieving Elementary and High School Students, 2010.
They were seeking to find whether there was a link between creative potential and underachieving students. It is certainly a worthwhile read for anyone interested in gifted education. It found 'that there is a relationship between creative potential and behaviour problems for underachievers, this study also seems to suggest that creativity can be a value-added catalyst for success, compared with typical measures of academic potential.'
For artists this seems a bit of a 'der' finding. But if statistics can be gained, solutions via teaching methods developed, perhaps some change can be made within the traditionally conservative education field.
